I visited the Okushiri Island with my laboratory members.
It is 322km from Sapporo, it takes about 8 hours by bus and ferry.
On the way, stopping at some places,
Watching Mt. Usu,
Eating club lunch box,....
We took a ferry from Setana port.
The capacity of the ferry was 500 people, which is much bigger than I expected.
While taking pictures, we approached the Okushiri island. It took one and half hour.
We arrived the Okushiri island.
Today's accommodation is Kikuchi Ryokan, Japanese style inn, located at the top of a hill.
The view of the Aonae por was very good.
A large Tsunami attacked here 15 years ago, and about 200 people killed.
After that the evacuation system was constructed at may places, by which people can evacuate to the safe place of the top of the hill.
A terrace shape structure was constructed at the harbor for the urgent evacuation.
